Recap & Reminders 2016 June 15

Last Sunday in the Link we continued with Part 2 of our series “Set Free” with a message entitled “Free to Give What You Have Received.”  Here are a couple of questions we will start with this Sunday in the Link during our breakout session:
1. When was the last time you carved out time to be absolutely alone with God? What arrangements needed to be made?
2. How do you understand tradition in light of this passage?
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

This coming Sunday, we will NOT be holding the Link.  Instead we will be participating in a special Pentecost Prayer following coffee break.  We will resume with Part 3 of our series “Set Free” the following Sunday, June 26th.

Pentecost Service, 6/19: This Sunday, June 19th we will be celebrating the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Church.  Liturgy will be held during normal schedule with the Prayer of Prostration following coffee break from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM.

Property at 30 N. Main St, Cranbury, NJ: This past Sunday, the Church community voted that we continue to explore our options with the township, zoning board, and other due diligence.  Keep on praying for clarity on God’s will for St. Anianus Church, as we have a meeting scheduled tomorrow morning.  More details to follow Sunday after Liturgy.

Trenton Homeless Service, 6/26: On Sunday June 26 at 1:30 PM, Synergy Ministry will be organizing a service to the Trenton train station, where we meet with the under resourced in Trenton, offering our time, a meal, and our faith working in love.

Connect (Youth Ministry), 6/30: Starting on Friday, June 30th from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM, St. Anianus Church will be launching a new youth ministry called “Connect” in order to help Middle & High School Youth connect to Christ.  We will seek to provide Orthodox Christian teaching, to engage youth by answering the difficult questions, while building a sense of community among the youth.

Independence Day Get-Together, 7/4: Mark your calendar, on Monday, July 4th, the Church community will be gathering for some fellowship and fun. More details to follow.
